Bike the Lake is an annual charitable cycle around Lake Geneva for fit cyclists of all abilities.

Inspire yourself.

Set your personal challenge for 2010 and join us.

6th June 2010

The event provides two different circuits both starting and returning from Geneva. A 120km route for the mildly ambitious, including a ferry between Evian and Lausanne, and a 180km route completing a whole circuit of the lake, for the more ambitious. Both circuits happen on the same day.

As Europe's largest, and possibly most beautiful lake, the cycling is mainly flat with no challenging climbs. But it is long and some training a month or so before the event is highly recommended especially those who get saddle-sore.

The scale of the ride, the landscape, and the company of the other riders creates a highly memorable day and a landmark achievement for anyone who takes part.

The ride will be supported with logistics, T-shirts and support vehicles.

We are supporting the Nepalese charity Project Sagarmatha  The specific funding goals this year are:

  • to support the running of an orphanage in Kathmandu
  • supporting health camps in remote areas of Nepal with medical experts from France and Switzerland
  • supporting a new project involving the famous Lausanne Hotel Restaurant School (EHL) which will provide vocational training to orphans. This school will open in January 2011.

We would like to encourage each participant to raise around CHF 350 or  €250 in sponsorship money. However we welcome all participants even if you would rather support your own cause.
